TACT to host youth auditions for first show of the new season

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Thalian Association Community Theatre is holding youth auditions for “Cry Wolf,” a play that will launch Sept. 17-26 (streaming options also will be available). Auditions will be held at the Community Arts Center, 120 S. 2nd St., downtown Wilmington, on Aug. 10, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

The first show of TACT’s season will be directed by the association’s artistic director, Chandler Davis. The story follows a group of wolves that have returned to the forest after 50 years. Yet, their return endangers the sheep of the nearby villagers, whose cattle are integral to their survival.

The show is a mashup of fairytale favorites, including Little Red Riding Hood, Three Little Pigs and the villainous Big Bad Wolf.

All roles are available.

Auditions will be held in small groups, with participants reading from a provided script. Sides and forms are available online at Thalian.org or at the desk of the Community Arts Center/Hannah Block USO; an audition time can be set up by calling 910-251-1788.

Other shows scheduled for the 2021-22 season include “Charlotte’s Web,” “Around the World in 80 Days,” “Children of Eden Jr.,” and “Junie B. Jones.”
