WILMINGTON –– Two women shot in a daylight drive-by shooting Thursday have been identified.
Tracey Lee McKoy, 50, died at the scene of the shooting on the sidewalk on the 800 block of South 13th Street.
McKoy lived in Wake Forrest, N.C., and was in town visiting family in the hospital. McKoy’s sister, Tammy Yvette Lamb-Brown, 48, of Wilmington was also shot and is surviving but in serious condition, according to the Wilmington Police Department.
Neither women have any gang connections, according to WPD. No arrests have been made.
“These women were completely innocent, with no gang ties,” WPD shared in a statement. “Chief Donny Williams and the entire police department are praying for this family. We hope that members of our community step forward with information to bring justice to this family. Anyone with information is asked to call 910-343-3609 or use the WPD app to send in tips.”
