Teenager dies in MLK Parkway crash

WILMINGTON — Eighteen-year-old Jakob Brian McLaughlin was killed in a fatal vehicle crash on Thursday around 5:30 p.m., according to Wilmington Police Department’s traffic unit.

The incident occurred in the 4800 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, as McLaughlin drove eastbound. The 2014 Mazda 6 collided into the back of a slowing U-Haul truck. The driver of the U-Haul sustained minor injuries, according to police.
