WILMINGTON — Live Oak Bank has awarded the Harrelson Center and Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear’s (CCLCF) Health Hub in the Health Hub in the Help Hub a generous grant, allowing the pilot to become a full-fledged program.
The Health Hub provides emergency services to families in need. Live Oak’s award will be used toward providing health assistance for clients with health concerns.
“By adding health related questions to the intake assessment, we discovered how many clients needed help with their own health or navigating the system.”, Angela Ives, CCLCF’s executive director said in a press release. “We embedded a care manager in the Help Hub who could help in real-time and would follow up until the concern was resolved. During the pilot, we served over 240 clients – all taking place during the pandemic.”
Mike Bollinger, Live Oak’s head of pharmacy lending, said the company is proud to assist in the healthcare arena during this challengeing time.

Meade Van Pet, Harrelson Center executive director, said in a statement the support was made possible with support from The Ministering Circle, a faith-based nondenominational philanthropic women’s group.
“We are so grateful that our pilot partnership with Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear, established through essential support from The Ministering Circle, will be further enhanced with this grant from Live Oak Bank. Only through multiple invested partners can we work to assure primary care is accessible to our under-insured neighbors.”
