Man arrested for driving into apartment clubhouse

WILMINGTON — 38-year-old Jerrod Maurice Spencer was arrested Sunday, after driving into the Shipyard Village Apartments clubhouse.

Wilmington Police Department officers were called to 719 Galley Lane on Sunday, Mar. 14, at 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they found Spencer hiding in the bushes near the complex’s entrance. 

Police found methamphetamine on Spencer, plus a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle. He was charged with:

  • Driving while impaired
  • Reckless driving to endanger
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver a schedule II controlled substance
  • Two counts of tracking methamphetamine
  • Possession of a schedule VI controlled substance
  • Driving while license revoked
  • Resist/delay/obstruct public officers
  • Civil contempt

Spencer was arrested and given a $300,000 secured bond.
