NEW HANOVER COUNTY – Holly Shelter Middle has been deemed a cluster after health officials determined seven cases of Covid-19 were connected.
Fourteen individuals are quarantining for 14 days after coming in close contact with those who tested positive.
According to a New Hanover County Schools press release, the county health department did not recommend closing the building “because the cluster was immediately isolated.”
“NHCS continues to be in contact with the NHC Health Department and are continuing to advise consistency in the 3 W’s: wear a mask, wait 6 feet away from others, and wash hands often,” according to the release. “If you are concerned that you may have come into contact with the virus, you should seek the advice of your healthcare provider or the NHC Health Department.”
