16-year-old arrested for Wilmington murder, police seek second suspect

WILMINGTON – A 16-year-old male has been taken into custody for a murder in Wilmington last week. Police are now searching for a second suspect.

On Dec. 30, Tywan Shaquille Parsley was found by officers dead on the scene at 1024 S. 13th St. His death marked the 22nd homicide for the city in 2020.

The suspect is from Wilmington and was arrested in Kinston. He is being held without bond and will go through the juvenile justice process, according to a Wilmington Police Department news release.

Rebecca Nicole Phillips, 25, of Wilmington is named as a second suspect. Police are asking anyone with information on her location to call the Wilmington department at 910-343-3609.

People can also submit tips through the Wilmington, NC PD app or text an anonymous message to 847411 (tip411) by including the keyword WPDNC.
