Drug bust leads to trafficking arrest and seizing 130 grams of raw heroin and other drugs

NEW HANOVER COUNTY—New Hanover County officers arrested Kenneth Hayes and Rasheed Halley with numerous trafficking-related offenses on Dec. 5. Hayes received a $1.5 million bond, and Halley received a $1.2 million bond.

New Hanover County vice detectives had been conducting a three-month investigation of Hayes and Halley, purchasing trafficking amounts of raw keroin. On Dec. 5 K9 deputies conducted a traffic stop around 17th Street of the suspect’s vehicle.

Detectives then found raw heroin and methamphetamine, which led to executing a search warrant at 4308 McClelland Dr. There, they seized additional narcotics and drug paraphernalia, including about 130 grams of raw heroin, 60 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, Adderall and ecstasy pills.
