Monday, March 16

The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. in the NHC Courthouse, 24 N. Third St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • Consideration of North Carolina Coastal Land Trust purchase of Flossie Bryan tract 

The Kure Beach Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes:

  • Community Center Committee alternate member appointment
  • Approving waiving the Special Event fee for the Cape Fear Disabled Sportsman’s Fishing Tournament and waive paid parking enforcement for the day of Friday, May 8
  • Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce presentation
  • Resolution R26-02 Opposing the proposed 1,4-Dioxane Monitoring and Minimization Rules
  • Carolina Beach/Kure Beach Sewer Authority update and adoption of rates for fiscal year 2027  
  • Discussion of Signing Letter Opposing the Fuquay Varina IBT
  • Schedule Two Hurricane Sessions for May 
  • Resolution exempting a Cape Fear Engineering Proposal from the Mini-Brooks Act

The Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at the David R. Sandifer Administration Building. The agenda includes consideration of resolutions to issue $349.6 million in School General Obligation Bonds for the construction and renovation of school facilities. Also, consideration to accept a $13.1 million grant from the U.S Army Corps of Engineers for the Highway 87 Water Main Transmission Project. The meeting will livestream here.

The Leland Town Council will meet for an agenda briefing meeting at 1 p.m. at the Leland Town Hall. The agenda includes a presentation on voting districts from the Cape Fear Council of Governments. Also, staff introduction and council discussion regarding the FY26-27 Capital Improvement Plan. The meeting will livestream here

Tuesday, March 17

The New Hanover County Schools Policy Committee will meet at 1 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Oak Island Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes:

  • Economic Development Strategic Plan presentation
  • Parks & Recreation Master Plan presentation
  • Approval of Resolution Adopting the Southeastern North Carolina Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan
  • Approval of Little Davis Canal Dredge Feasibility Study
  • Consideration of the Coastal Storm Damage Mitigation fund Grant Contract
  • Approval of Budget Ordinance Amendment — Dune Planting and amendment for CSDM grant
  • Multiple public hearings: closing the alley between NE 47th and NE 49th Streets and ontext amendment(s) to the UDO

The North Topsail Beach Board of Aldermen will meet for a special meeting at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall, 2008 Loggerhead Court. The agenda includes the appointment of an interim town manager and the authorization of a contract for recruitment services. The meeting will livestream here

Wednesday, March 18

The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold a budget work session at 2:30 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.

Brunswick H2GO will meet at 5 p.m. at 146 Gregory Road in the RO Water Treatment Plant training room. The agenda includes departmental reports, contract negotiations, and more. The public is welcome to attend.

The Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners will hold a budget workshop at 2 p.m. at the Topsail Beach Town Hall. The meeting will focus on the initial review of the 2026/2027 draft budget, including a breakdown of the General Fund and long-term capital priorities. The meeting will livestream here

The Pender County Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m. at 805 S. Walker Street in Burgaw. The agenda includes a public hearing for a variance request for a single-family residence located on Key Largo Dr. to allow for a 40-foot building height to accommodate flood elevation requirements following a 2024 fire. Thursday, March 19

The Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet at 1 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

  • 4230 Masonboro Loop Road: Variance to City Code Section 18-286 standards for water-dependent structures 

The Southport Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the Southport Community Building. An agenda has not yet been posted. Meetings are live streamed here.

The Oak Island Town Council will host a special meeting at 1 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes:

  • Consideration of Sponsorship/Naming Policy
  • Consideration of Recommendations from the Blue Ribbon Summit on Pedestrian Safety

The Navassa Town Council will host a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at 338 Main St. An agenda was not posted by press.

The North Carolina State Ports Authority Human Resources and Compensation Committee will meet at 2 p.m. in the Board Room of the North Carolina Maritime Building, 2202 Burnett Boulevard. Members of the public may join in person.

Burgaw Planning Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the town center, 108 E. Wilmington St. An agenda was not posted by press.

The Surf City Town Council will meet for a work session at 9 a.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex. The agenda includes consideration to modernize its town charter. Also, consideration to update its Rules of Procedure to modernize meeting notifications and codify newly adopted Thursday work sessions. The meeting will livestream here.

The Leland Town Council will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the Leland Town Hall. The agenda includes a public hearing regarding an ordinance update to modify permitted uses in the town’s Code of Ordinances to address data center permitting. Also, another public hearing to consider an ordinance amending the town code related to civil penalties and enforcement. The meeting will livestream here.
