WILMINGTON — Cape Fear Community College is bringing the college experience directly to high school students at the Career Readiness Academy at Mosley. Expanding on a two-year partnership, CFCC has established two dedicated college classrooms on the Mosley campus to help students kickstart their higher education and career training.
Dubbed “Sea Devil Cove,” the newly upgraded space features a 19-station computer lab, modern desks and chairs, and CFCC branding designed to foster an authentic college atmosphere.
“When students walk into that new space, we really want them to feel like they’re college students,” Moseley pincipal Charlie Broadfoot said in a press release. “That builds into the question of, ‘When I graduate, what’s next?’ And for a lot of our students, we’re hoping CFCC will be that next step.”
Mosley students voted on their preferred course options. Students chose cybersecurity, graphic design, and criminal justice. The tuition-free courses will be taught by CFCC faculty.
