WILMINGTON — The annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive is returning to pit Wilmington Police and Fire against one another for a little friendly competition in support of the American Red Cross.
The community is encouraged to participate by donating blood on behalf of WPD or WFD at Wilmington Red Cross Blood Donation Center, 1102 S. 16th St., on Aug. 20 between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. The department with the most pints collected wins, but the real winners are those whose lives are saved by donating blood.
WFD has claimed the title for the past three years by collecting the most donations.
