WILMINGTON — N.C. Supreme Court Associate Justice Anita Earls, a Democratic candidate running for re-election this year, will meet with Wilmington-area faith leaders Friday, Aug. 14, for discussion on justice, equality and community.
The gathering will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Little Drum Landing, next to Elijah’s Restaurant at 2 Ann St. in downtown Wilmington.
The event is intended to foster an open conversation about equal justice under the law and the role of faith communities in promoting fairness, dignity and compassion. Faith leaders from all religious backgrounds are invited to attend.
Earls previously served as a deputy assistant attorney general in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and worked at the UNC Center for Civil Rights. She founded the Southern Coalition for Social Justice in 2007 and served as its executive director for 10 years.
