
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office made a dozen arrests in an effort to curb drug trafficking.
The law enforcement agency announced Tuesday that the Vice and Narcotics Unit, in conjunction with the Special Operations Unit, arrested 12 individuals tied to drug trafficking and other related criminal activity.
The suspects arrested and charged are:
- Jordan Anthony Scott, 22 of Supply: Charged with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule II controlled substance, fentanyl, cocaine and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia
- James Edward Durrett, 79 of Navassa: Charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of firearm by felon
- Joshua Ryan Kelton, 45 of Southport: Charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver fentanyl, methamphetamine and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Nathan William Benedict, 24 of Southport: Charged with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver fentanyl, methamphetamine and marijuana, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Katelyn Renee Woodell, 35 of Southport: Charged with exposing a child to a controlled substance
- Richard Allen Clemmons, 57 of Southport: Charged with exposing a child to a controlled substance
- Ashley Nicole Helton, 39 of Thomasville: Charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine
- Heather Marie Mackey, 36 of Supply: Charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine and marijuana, conspiracy to traffick methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Devlin Edward Greenless, 31 of Supply: Charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine and marijuana, conspiracy to traffick methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Samantha Marie Malay, 32 of Supply: Charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver methamphetamine and marijuana, conspiracy to traffick methamphetamine, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia
- Rocco Michael Rella, III, 51 of Longwood: Charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver schedule II controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana up to half an ounce
- Jermain Bryant, 41 of Shallotte: Charged with possession of a firearm by a felon
According to the announcement by the sheriff’s office: “Sheriff Brian Chism remains committed to aggressively pursuing those who traffic illegal drugs and to holding offenders accountable. The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office will continue working to reduce the availability of dangerous narcotics, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, while partnering with the community to keep Brunswick County safe.”
