Monday, April 13
The Bald Head Island Planning Board will host a special meeting at 1 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Department of Public Safety. Meetings can be joined via Zoom here and the agenda includes:
- Reviewing and making recommendations on a subdivision preliminary plat proposal to subdivide a parcel on Marina Wynd
- A public hearing for a proposed arcade
The Belville Board of Commissioners will host a budget workshop at 6 p.m. in the NC State Highway Patrol Training Room. The agenda includes presentations on a donation to the Belville Elementary School along with a resolution, the volunteer recognition program, and a resolution for the disposal of property.
The Pender County Board of Commissioners will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. at 805 South Walker Street, Burgaw. The board will discuss the recent decision to suspend the 2026 property revaluation. The meeting will livestream here.
The Brunswick County Planning Board will meet at 4 p.m. in Commissioners’ Chambers at the Brunswick County Government Center. The agenda includes consideration of the Green Hill Planned Development, consisting of 1,340 single-family units on approximately 784 acres on Green Hill Road. Also on the agenda is the proposed Jinny’s Creek Planned Development consisting of 129 single-family homes on Hale Swamp Road.
The Leland Town Council will hold an agenda review meeting at 1 p.m. at the Leland Town Hall. Discussion topics include continued work on the Unified Development Ordinance and a staff update on the FY26/27 budget. The meeting will livestream here.
Brunswick Regional Water and Sewer H2GO will meet April 15, 5 p.m., 146 Gregory Rd. in Belville. The agenda is posted here and the public is welcome to attend.
Tuesday, April 14
The New Hanover County Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 11 a.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St., to review the school calendar and committee assignments. Meetings are livestreamed here.
The New Hanover County Schools Policy Committee will meet at 1 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- Policy 2310 – Public Participation at Board Meetings
- Policy 3540 – Comprehensive Health and Safety Education Program
The New Hanover County Board of Elections meet on Tuesday, April 14, 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the Board of Elections Office, 226 Government Center Drive. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct regular business and discuss election-related matters. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. Meetings can be viewed here. The agenda includes:
- Presentation of the draft budget
- Public hearings on an amendment to Moshakos Bluewater LLC’s conditional use permit and the town’s code on lighting
- Recommendation about events during the bridge replacements
- Considering amending public comment policy for Board of Aldermen meetings
- Considering approval of bylaws for the parking committee and initial appointments to the committee
- Special event applications from the Wrightsville Beach Longboard Association
The Carolina Beach Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. Meetings can be streamed here. The agenda includes:
- Public hearing for the 2026/27 budget
- Public hearing to allow retail as an accessory use for hotels and motels in the MF district
- Public hearing to update Unified Development Articles 2 and 3 for ordinance clarification and consistency with state statutes
The Oak Island Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes public hearings on swimming pool setbacks and the Blue Ribbon Summit’s pedestrian and traffic safety recommendations. It also includes a presentation on OKI’s economic development, consideration of the parks and recreation master plan adoption and an additional ordinance to OKI’s minimum housing code to order further proceedings. Burgaw Board of Commissioners meet at 4:30 p.m. at Burgaw Town Center, 108 E. Wilmington St. The agenda includes a public hearing to change the official designation of the town’s governing body from Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners to the “Burgaw Town Council” and an ordinance amending the name and titles of the board members.
Wednesday, April 15
Burgaw Planning Board meets at 5:30 p.m. at 108 E. Wilmington St. in Burgaw. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Pender County Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m. in Commissioners’ Chambers, 805 South Walker Street, Burgaw. The agenda includes consideration of an appeal for the 147 acre Piver Tract Master Development Plan, approved by the Planning Board in January. Also, a request to raise the freestanding sign height maximum from 25 feet to 50 feet.
Thursday, April 16
The New Hanover County ABC Board meets at 9 a.m. at 6009 Market St. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Leland Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Leland Town Hall. The agenda includes work on the FY26/27 budget and setting the initial zoning for two parcels totalling 150 acres off of U.S. Highway 74/76 eventually seeking annexation into the town. The meeting will livestream here.
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 11 a.m. in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Surf City Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Surf City Municipal Complex. The agenda includes a discussion on the FY 2026-2027 budget and consideration of the addition of a Job Growth Corridor land use category to the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The meeting will livestream here.
The Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet at 1 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- 646 Long Leaf Acres Drive: Appeal of Zoning Officer determination that a fence located within the front yard of a residence does not meet the criteria as set forth in City Code Section 18-325.
The Southport Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in the Southport Community Building. The agenda includes zoning text amendments for a bed and breakfast, pools in the business district and mobile vendors or food trucks. Meetings can be streamed here.
