
WILMINGTON — On Tuesday evening a shotspotter called officers to the location of potential firearm activity. Upon arrival to the scene, officers located one person who had been shot.
It was 8:30 p.m. when Shotspotter detected activity in the 700 block of Marstellar Street. A search of the area turned up 42-year-old Daryl Scott, who passed away from his injuries. The investigation is being treated as a homicide, Wilmington Police Department noted in a release on Wednesday.
A K9 Unit was called to the scene, along with members of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), and the Medical Examiner’s Office.
