Portion of Market Street closed due to water main repair

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A lane in the 1100 block of Market Street is temporarily closed Wednesday, Jan. 21, due to a needed water main repair.

Cape Fear Public Utility Authority cews began correcting the emergency fix at 9 a.m., rendering the outer westbound lane closed; traffic has shifted into the inner westbound lane. Turning and through traffic on North 12th Street will also be blocked, with the 00 block of North 12th Street is open to local traffic only.

The closure is expected to take place until around 3 p.m. barring any delays.
