Tuesday, Jan. 13
The New Hanover County Schools Policy Committee will meet at 1 p.m. in the Board of Education Center, 1805 S. 13th St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

New Hanover County Board of Elections has a regular meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room at the Board of Elections Office, 226 Government Center Dr. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct regular business, including consideration of early voting election officials for the upcoming election and discuss election-related matters. Limited in-person seating will be available. The public may also join by phone, dial 1-336-218-2051; when prompted for the Conference ID, enter 732 445 496 followed by the pound sign (#). Brunswick County Board of Elections has a regular meeting at 6 p.m. in commissioners’ chambers, 30 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes revaluation of out of precinct polling locations. Stream online by clicking here.
The Oak Island ABC Board will host a regular meeting at 10 a.m. at the ABC Store. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Carolina Beach Town Council will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at Council Chambers. The agenda includes:
- Town Hall usage policy
- Employee retention solutions
- Budget ordinance for 2nd Street improvements
- Budget transfers
- Public hearing to change 205 Raleigh Avenue to CBD from Mixed Use zoning

The Pender County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. in the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S. Highway 117. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:

Wednesday, Jan. 14
The Oak Island Board of Adjustment will host a regular meeting at 10 a.m. in Council Chambers. The agenda includes variance relief requests. Meetings can be streamed here.
The Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the Topsail Beach Town Hall. The agenda includes consideration of joining a regional group with Holly Ridge, Topsail Beach, Surf City and North Topsail Beach to collaborate on traffic, infrastructure, and emergency management. CFPUA Authority Board meets at 10 a.m. in room 139 at 230 Government Dr. The agenda includes varied reports from staff and committees, including a $7.3 million contract for Civil Works Contracting for the South Castle Hayne Rd. Waterline Project. The Communications Committee meets at 10:30 a.m. and the agenda can be accessed here.
Thursday, Jan. 15
The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will hold an agenda review at 11 a.m. in the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive. Meetings are livestreamed here. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet at 1 p.m. in the Skyline Center, 929 N. Front St. Meetings are livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- 7625 Masonboro Sound Road: Variance to Legacy City Code Sections 18-248 and 18-249 for a detached accessory dwelling unit to be located in front of the primary dwelling and exceed the maximum gross floor area permitted in the R-20 district
- 1806 Montage Lane: Variance to Legacy City Code 18-204, Urban Mixed Use setback requirements, and Section 18-308 to locate an in-ground swimming pool between the primary dwelling and a side street
The Southport Planning Board will host a regular meeting at 6 p.m. at the Southport Community Center. The agenda includes discussion of old business — a zoning amendment for a vape/tobacco shop and rules and procedures discussions. The board will also be goal setting. Meetings are uploaded here.
The Navassa Town Council will host a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. An agenda was not posted by press.
The Surf City Town Council will meet at 6 p.m., 214 West Florence Way, Hampstead. The agenda includes consideration of updates to the fiscal year fee schedule, including a move to a flat $5 hourly parking rate across all lots and increased daily and weekly parking rates. Council will also vote on a $664,000 contract to build a 10-foot-wide multi-use path in coordination with ongoing water line construction. The meeting will livestream here.
The Leland Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Leland Town Hall Council Chambers. The agenda includes a public hearing to consider rezoning approximately 1.45 acres of the Hawthorne Waterside apartment complex to change the designation from Multifamily District to General Commercial to allow for retail establishments.

Friday, Jan. 16
The Bald Head Island Village Council will host a regular meeting at 10 a.m. at the Department of Public Safety building in the Multipurpose Room. An agenda was not posted by press but can be accessed after the meeting here. The meeting can be joined by Zoom here.
