PENDER COUNTY — A new license plate agency will open Monday in Surf City.

Located at 2634 N.C. Hwy. 210 E., Suite 205, the agency will be in the Shoppes at the Promenade, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays; it will close on state holidays.

While NCDMV oversees the agencies, they’re managed by private businesses or local governments. The Surf City operators are Jessica and Bobby Straughn, who also own agencies in Wallace and in Wilmington’s South Square Plaza on Carolina Beach Road.

The agency will offer vehicle registration services and title transactions, as well as vehicle license plate renewals, replacement tags, handicap placards and duplicate registrations.

Services such as property tax payments and registration renewals can also be completed online at MyNCDMV.gov.
