SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — Both Pender County Schools and New Hanover County Schools will reopen under normal operations Wednesday.
“After assessing the situation following recent weather conditions, we have determined that schools can safely resume regular operations,” PCS spokesperson Bob Fankboner wrote in a press release.
“We thank the community for their support and understanding during a challenging week,” NHCS spokesperson Christina Beam wrote in a press release.
Both districts chose to open schools Monday as an unnamed storms, bringing inches of rain in the double digits, beared down on the Cape Fear. However, both districts announced it would release students early as flooding issues execrated Monday morning. On Tuesday NHCS operated remotely, while PCS closed school altogether.
