Brunswick County Schools announced Tuesday evening it will not reopen after a tropical system dumped upward of 20 inches of rain in some areas, causing multiple flooded roads that left people stranded for hours. Water inundation also led to multiple sinkholes and roads collapsing.
The district noted it would followup with staff and educators on guidance. Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to their district supervisor, according to officials.
