Landfill to host free cleanup week in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The next free cleanup week at the Brunswick County landfill will take place mid-September.

Property owners and residents that live in the county are welcome to dispose of all materials, except for regular household trash and hazardous waste, free of charge at the landfill. Proof of residency must be shown and the cleanup week takes place Sept. 16-21.

Accepted items include:

  • Tires
  • Metal
  • Electronics
  • Latex paint
  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Used oil
  • Oil filters
  • Antifreeze
  • Gasoline
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Used cooking oil
  • Smoke detectors
  • Household batteries
  • Yard debris

Businesses and commercial vehicles will be charged normal tipping fees. More information can be obtained by calling 910-253-2520 or emailing OperationServices@brunswickcountync.gov.
