Body of missing woman discovered in Bolivia woods

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — A missing woman was found Tuesday in Bolivia.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office announced that 32-year-old Alba Jo Doreen Wade was discovered deceased around 5:30 p.m. on July 16. Wade was found in a wooded area off Colonial Landing in Bolivia, after a call Tuesday morning suggested she might be missing in the vicinity.

The search involved 137 personnel from 18 agencies, including the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, Pender Search and Rescue, Brunswick County Search and Rescue, and Leland Fire Department.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office stated the investigation is ongoing but assured the public there is no danger. 

“We express our sympathies to the family and loved ones of Ms. Wade,” the sheriff’s office wrote Wednesday.
