Roadways to be upgraded in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — The N.C. Department of Transportation announced a contract award for the repair of miles of roadway in Brunswick County.

ST Wooten Corp. of Wilson, North Carolina, was given $4 million to mill, resurface and reconstruct shoulders of N.C. 87, and eight sections of secondary roads. Cumulatively, it makes up 14.5 miles.

Work could begin as early as this summer, with completion planned for spring 2026.
