To be located on Highway 17 next to the Pender County Government Annex, the new library will replace the current on in Hampstead. The county wants to know what community members need and want. A survey is here to understand services, resources and practices the community utilize to help inform the architecture team.
“These insights will play a crucial role in shaping the design of the new library,” according to a release from Pender County.
The survey, open May 15 through June 23, can also be procured in person at the Hampstead Branch Library (75 Library Drive) and the Main Library in Burgaw (103 S. Cowan Street).
Public input sessions are planned in June at the Hampstead Branch Library: Tuesday, June 11, 7 p.m., and Thursday, June 13, 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
A special session for parents will be held Wednesday, June 12, 10:30 a.m. Library staff will provide activities for children in a neighboring room.
