Public hearing scheduled for Carolina Beach budget

CAROLINA BEACH — A New Hanover County beach town is welcoming public feedback on its fiscal year budget.

The town of Carolina Beach has its 2024-2025 budget for review for public inspection here or in person at town hall, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 1121 North Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach. 

The budget includes a 9% property tax increase, going from 21.5 cents per $100 to 23.5 cents. It totals $22.6 million in general fund expenses, $2 million more than 2023-2024. Its also includes 4% increased fees for water, sewer, and stormwater utilities.

A public hearing on the proposed budget will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 6 p.m., in the town council chambers.
