Man arrested in rape case in Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH — After investigating a sexual assault case since 2022, law enforcement has made an arrest.

Detectives from CB Police Department have arrested Scott Bradley Scohy II. The victim in this case reported the sexual assault that occurred in Carolina Beach in June of 2022, according to a press release from the department.

Carolina Beach police worked with the North Carolina State Crime Lab in the case.

Officers obtained warrants on March 23 to arrest Scohy for first degree forcible rape. A judge ordered during his first appearance on March 25, he be held under a $500,0000 secured bond in the New Hanover County Detention Center.
