Pender schools to offer STEM summer learning program

PENDER COUNTY — An area school district is combating summer learning loss and building student confidence at an upcoming summer camp. 

A STEM summer camp will teak place July 8 – 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for students in grades K-5 in Pender County. The camp will be hosted at C.F. Pope Elementary, North Topsail Elementary, and Rocky Point Elementary.

Led by local educators, the camp will offer exciting, hands-on learning experiences while improving academic performance. Campers will participate in creative thinking and problem solving and engage with positive role models.

The cost is $270 per child with scholarships available for students attending Title I schools and academically or intellectually gifted students.
