WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department has charged 26-year-old Jahreese Jones with first degree rape, armed robbery, and first degree kidnapping in reference to a cold case from August of 2015.
Jones is currently being held at Tabor Correctional Institution for his connection to the 2022 murder of his half-sister, the 16-year-old Miyonna Jones. Miyonna Jones’s body was found in Pender County on Nov. 17, two weeks after she was reported missing in Wilmington.
Jahreese Jones was charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree rape and assault by strangulation, as well as possession of a firearm by a felon and parole violation. His girlfriend Randi Johnson was also charged for obstructing justice.
