
WILMINGTON — Around 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 20, Wilmington Police Department officers responded to the Scotchman located at 898 S. Kerr Ave. The 911 call was regarding a female in the store threatening people with a machete.
Identified as 39-year-old Carrie Shemeka McDonald, WPD reports she was still inside the store and still in possession of the machete when officers arrived. She ultimately dropped the machete and was taken into custody.
In addition to the machete she was also in possession of spice, a synthetic drug. McDonald is charged with possession of schedule I narcotics, going armed to the terror of the public, and resisting, delaying and obstructing public officers. McDonald is currently in the New Hanover County Detention Facility under no bond.
