Rosalind Comfort, 48, was charged with one count of first degree kidnapping, five counts of human trafficking, and two counts of promotion of prostitution.
Faulk and Comfort are being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility on a $2 million secured bond.
Coastal Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force — comprising the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, HSI, and NCIS — investigated the case after a missing person report was filed on Jan. 28.
The female was last known to be in the Wilmington area; during the investigation, commercial sex ads were located for the female victim. Law enforcement learned she was being held for ransom and forced on commercial sex dates, from which her captor financially benefited.
On Jan. 30, the female victim was recovered by the Coastal Carolina Human Trafficking Task Force.
