Lanes are closed on Oleander Drive near Chick-fil-A at Hanover Center

[Ed. note: All lanes of Oleander Drive near the intersection with Independence Boulevard have reopened to traffic Tuesday, Nov. 14. Crews have completed the emergency water main repair and the road has been repaved.]

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A broken water main has several lanes of Oleander Drive closed to traffic near the intersection at Independence Boulevard.

Motorists in the area will experience three westbound lanes closed in the 3300 block of Oleander. The driveway into Hanover Shopping Center adjacent to the Chick-fil-A is also closed to traffic. All lanes are open at the intersection with Independence Boulevard.

The closures will remain in place for approximately eight hours as Cape Fear Public Utility Authority crews work to correct the issue.
