2 juveniles shot Saturday, WPD makes arrest

WILMINGTON — A shooting that took place Saturday afternoon has led to one arrest, with two victims sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Wilmington Police Department responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the 1900 block of Gufford Drive around 1:40 p.m. on Oct. 28. Officers found two juvenile victims shot, who were transported to Novant NHRMC. 

Shortly thereafter, a suspect — also a minor — was apprehended nearby and WPD made an arrest. The person is in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center. 

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to call (910) 343-3609 or make an anonymous via the Tip 411 app.
