WILMINGTON — A portion of a major roadway in Wilmington will shut down for three days for railroad maintenance.
CSX plans to completely close Oleander Drive, near Dawson and Wooster streets, for railroad crossing work from 4 a.m. Oct. 28 through 4 a.m. Oct. 31. Originally slated to be done Oct. 30, CSX had to extend the timeline another day due to an asphalt shortage, according to the city.
The closure is part of CSX’s network wide infrastructure maintenance program. Signage will be in place directing eastbound traffic to use Dawson Street to Wrightsville Avenue to Independence Boulevard back to Oleander Drive. Westbound traffic will follow the reverse order — Independence, to Wrightsville Avenue to Dawson Street.
