PENDER COUNTY — Due to pending weather conditions, Pender County Schools will move to remote learning Thursday, Aug. 31, and cancel all after-school activities Wednesday and Thursday.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, school will return to in-person classrooms Friday, though a release states the decision is subject to change based on the weather pattern. Localized flooding and other storm-related challenges could prevent the return.

Teachers will be provided detailed instructions and resources to ensure students have access to necessary materials and will also retain open lines of communication. Families with limited or no access to internet at home should coordinate with their respective teachers for assignments.

Attendance will still be taken during Thursday’s remote learning and all students are encouraged to participate.

For up-to-date information, follow Pender County Schools website and social media pages. If school is closed or schedules change, text and voice message alerts will be sent out.
