
BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Animal Protective Services in neighboring Brunswick County will be closed until Friday.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, a recently adopted puppy from the shelter tested positive for canine parvovirus. The a highly contagious virus can impact all dogs, but unvaccinated and younger ones are most at risk.
Due to the case, BCSO Animal Protective Services will be closed Wednesday, July 26th, and Thursday, July 27th, out of caution and safety of other animals.
Staff will be disinfecting, cleaning and doing maintenance during this time. The shelter will reopen Friday, July 28th.
