2 men arrested in connection to convenience store armed robbery

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — An 18-year-old and 22-year-old male were arrested Monday in connection to the armed robbery of a store on Castle Hayne Road.

Just after 10 a.m. on July 24, two male suspects in dark clothing and wearing a mask entered El Paso Tienda Latina at 2528 Castle Hayne Rd., according to the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office. Brandishing a firearm, they demanded and received money and then fled the scene on foot.

Two suspects were identified in NHSCO detectives’ investigation: Alan Antonio Vallejo-Seguera, 22, and Kelvin Ramon Velasquez-Delgado, 18. Both have been arrested and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping, amd conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Vallejo-Seguera received a $500,000 secure bond and Velasquez-Delgado received a $200,000 secure bond.
