Leland man arrested on multiple charges following traffic stop

WILMINGTON — A traffic stop on Dawson Street led to the arrest of 21-year-old, following a vehicle search.

On Sunday around 5:30 p.m., Wilmington Police Department officers stopped Carlos Soliz of Leland, in the 1700 block of Dawson Street. After searching his car, officers found a firearm, 45 grams of marijuana, and alcohol.

Soliz is being charged with careless and reckless operation, window tint violation, felony possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and careering a concealed weapon.

Soliz is being held at the New Hanover County Detention Center under a $7,000 secured bond.
