NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A teen was arrested Friday in connection with a firearm found at Eugene Ashley High School.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 17-year-old male at 2 p.m. The juvenile turned himself into deputies at the detention facility and he is being held under a secure custody order.

The student is being charged with possession of a firearm on educational property, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, possession of a firearm by a minor, possession of marijuana, misdemeanor assault on a school employee, and resist delay obstruct a government official.
