Arrests made in Burgaw Bojangles’ shooting, including fourth suspect

BURGAW — The Burgaw Police Department have made arrests in a recent shooting that took place at Bojangles April 18.

Warrants were put out for three suspects over the weekend and on Tuesday, law enforcement said a fourth suspect was allegedly involved in the shooting.

Police officers arrested Burgaw resident Jordan Marquis Stokes, 19, after serving a search warrant of his apartment on West Satchwell Street on Monday.

Also arrested was Christen Raenard Love, a 20-year-old from Wallace, who turned himself Monday, according to a news release.

On Tuesday, the remaining suspects, 21-year-old Christian “JJ” Elijah Faison and Jaheim Timothy Smith, 19, both from Warsaw, NC, turned themselves into authorities as well.

The magistrate issued all men a $150,000 secured bond.

They have been charged with:

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury (F)
  • Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property (F)
  • Assault by pointing a Gun (M)
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon (M)
  • Discharging a Firearm in Town Limits (M)

Officers investigating the case said in a release the four males engaged in an argument with the victim inside the restaurant. The confrontation spilled outside and shots were fired.

The victim was treated at Pender Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Burgaw PD asked the community for tips over the last week regarding the incident which helped Chief Jim Hock said in the release.

“Thank you to our citizens, neighbors, and local media for information and support in this investigation,” Hock said.
