Checking in with tri-county schools: 19 Covid-19 cases in New Hanover, 16 in Brunswick and 17 in Pender

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — New Hanover County Schools reported 19 Covid-19 cases over the past week, according to the NHCS public online dashboard. Forty people were directed to quarantine after being exposed to the virus at school.

Since Oct. 12, NHCS has recorded 972 positive cases total. Here is the breakdown for the week of May 7:

Brunswick County Schools

Brunswick County Schools is reporting 16 active Covid-19 cases and more than 180 precautionary quarantines as of Friday afternoon on its online dashboard.

Since Aug. 21, the school system has recorded 472 positive cases overall.

Pender County Schools

Pender County Schools is showing 17 Covid-19 cases, including one in the central office, and 89 quarantines for the week of May 3, according to the most recent update on its dashboard.

Since Aug. 1, 600 staff and students in Pender County tested positive for Covid-19.
