The Agenda: This week in local government

SOUTHEASTERN N.C. — It may feel impossible to keep up with local issues while they’re still being worked out.

Getting involved early on in the policy-making process can help ensure the community’s input gets heard before it’s too late to chime in.

You may not even need to attend (in person or virtually) to make sure your perspective is taken into consideration. Oftentimes, sending an email to government officials to be considered as a public comment pertaining to a particular item can put your voice into the public record.

Every Monday Port City Daily will share upcoming government meetings of interest around the tri-county region. If there’s an item of public interest, we’ll include that below the listed meeting, too.

Here’s what’s on this week’s agenda:

Monday, April 12

Leland Town Council will meet for an agenda meeting at 1 p.m. at Leland Town Hall. View the agenda.

New Hanover County Schools Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee will meet beginning at 5 p.m.

Brunswick County Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in Bolivia. View the agenda.

Tuesday, April 13

New Hanover County Schools Policy Committee will meet beginning at 9 a.m. View the agenda.

New Hanover County Schools Board of Education will meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. View the agenda.

Brunswick County Schools Board of Education will meet beginning at 6 p.m. in Bolivia. View the agenda.

Carolina Beach Town Council will meet beginning at 6:30 p.m. View the agenda.

Wednesday, April 14

Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will meet for a special budget workshop meeting beginning at 9:20 a.m.

Thursday, April 15

New Hanover County ABC Board will meet beginning at 9 a.m.

City of Wilmington Board of Adjustment will meet beginning at 1 p.m. View the agenda.

New Hanover County Commissioners will meet for an agenda review meeting beginning at 4 p.m.
