Update: Missing Rocky Point woman found in neighboring county [Free]

Update (August 29 at 11:25 a.m.) — Stephanie Swart was located Duplin County, north of Pender County, according to the Pender Sheriff’s Office.

PENDER COUNTY — The Pender County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public assistance in its search for Stephanie Raye Swart, who was last seen on August 17 leaving her home in Rocky Point to run an errand in Wilmington.

She was reported missing more than a week later, on Tuesday, August 25.

When she left her home, Swart was traveling to Wilmington in a silver 2003 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, with damage to its tailgate and a registered license plate reading WRZ-8939. According to Captain Billy Sanders, who leads PCSO’s criminal investigations division, she was was driving to her pharmacy located at the Walmart Supercenter on Sigmon Road.

“The medication was picked up, but she never returned home,” Sanders said.

Swart is 32 years old, 5’7″ to 5’8″, and 135 to 140 pounds in weight. She has straight brown hair and blue eyes with multiple tattoos, including one with the words ‘roll out’ on her left forearm and angel wings with the name Chris or Bubba on her back, according to the PCSO. 

“Swart is known to frequent New Hanover and Duplin counties, and she has ties to Louisa County, VA,” Sanders said in a Thursday afternoon statement.

Asked if the Sheriff’s office had other photos than those provided, which are heavily edited, he said they were the only ones provided by Swart’s family.
