NHCSO asks for help after Pappy Van Winkle, body armor stolen from self-storage facility

NEW HANOVER COUNTY — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find two men who broke into a self-storage unit, stealing tools, designer suits, tactical body armor, and a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle whiskey.

According to surveillance images provided by NHCSO, in the early morning hours of Monday, May 25, two men appeared to break into a unit at the CubeSmart Self Storage facility at 755 Market St.

According to the incident report, about $800 worth of Blackhawk body armor, $1,500 worth of Hugo Boss suits, and a $400 bottle of Pappy Van Winkle were among the stolen items.

NHCSO asks anyone who can identify the individuals or vehicle in the photos to contact Detective Whitley at 910-798-4261, or to provide information anonymously online.
