Wilmington Police Department puts policy manual online following protests

WILMINGTON — The recent protest across the nation have called for police reform as well as greater transparency amongst police departments. In an effort to ensure residents have knowledge on police policy, the Wilmington Police Department has put its entire police policy manual online.

Those interested can view the policy here.

The document consists of all 13 chapters of the Wilmington Police Department’s Policy Manual and includes items of interest like expected conduct, traffic enforcement procedures, and use of force.

The WPD shared the policy on social media Thursday morning and the policy manual can also be found by going to the City of Wilmington’s website and following the links to the police department.
