WILMINGTON — Early in the morning of Memorial Day, a ‘multiple-round’ shooting left one man dead at the scene.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, May 25, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert on the 400 block of Clay Street, a side street leading to the Creekwood neighborhood.

Officers found 55-year-old Brian Keith Glaspie lying near a residence; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details have been released.

There have been several shootings in the area over the last few weeks, including one that took the life of Shawn Grady. The 400 block of Clay Street was also the scene of a shooting last November, during a wave of shootings that lasted for weeks.

This case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Wilmington Police Department at (910)-343-3609.
