The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted our daily lives. Wilmington’s Park & Recreation staff have developed a variety of online programs and activities for families in the community.
These include FREE online fitness classes and workshops and Rec Time videos that will be posted at 11 am Monday – Friday. Recreation staff have also put together a list of online activities, virtual tours and other fun things to do with your family at home. Wrightsville Beach Brewery – Updated
We will be running curbside pick up and delivery in the Seagate neighborhood – up to a 4 mile radius This includes food, beer and wine.
We have also put together an event today to try to support local – including farmers and vendors as well as musicians.
Wrightsville Beach Brewery wants to support local vendors and musicians as well. The brewery is hosting a drive through market on Saturday, March 21st. The market will be a way for locals to come to the brewery to enjoy a farmers market, live music, and pick up food and beer to take home all from the comfort and safety of their own vehicle.
For a $1 donation to Nourish NC, you can slowly drive through the parking lot and shop for local goods while listening to solo musicians on the stage. We are implementing a Limited Access Policy which suspends usage of our lobby and gives restricted access to our building. We are asking that all clients remain in their vehicle and call our office upon arrival for check-in or pick up of any supplies.
Our staff will discuss your needs by phone and will come to the parking lot with your medications, supplies or to bring your animal into the building for evaluation and care. Your veterinarian will call you to discuss recommendations and a plan for your visit. Verbal consent for treatment will be authorized via phone.

We have made a couple of changes to two events that were still on our system’s calendar: Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum in Hatteras The 78th annual British War Graves Ceremonies, which were scheduled for May 7 in Buxton and May 8 in Ocracoke, have been canceled. N.C. Maritime Museum in Beaufort The 46th annual Wooden Boat Show, which is typically held on the first Saturday in May along Front Street in downtown Beaufort, has been rescheduled for Oct. 17 and will move to our Gallants Channel property.

We are pleased to announce the creation of the new Wilson Center Ghostlight Series to support our local area artists impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This new series will feature local and regional artists, with seven different artists performing each week, and will be available on the internet and broadcast by WHQR.
The Arts Council is accepting applications from local music artists who have been economically impacted by the pandemic, and their committee will select the artists for each week’s performances. These artists will be featured in a 30-minute performance each day, and a compilation of that week’s Ghostlight concerts will be broadcast on WHQR.
The Arts Council will be accepting donations which will support the artists featured in the Wilson Center Ghostlight Series. Links will be provided during each performance, and all donations are tax deductible.

GLOW Academy
GLOW is working to feed students who are out of school due to the COVID-19 closures.
The Academy will provide curbside pickup of breakfast and lunch at its Sunglow Drive campus daily from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday thru Friday.
The school will also deliver meals to six underserved areas of the county to reach students without transportation. Breakfast and lunch service is available to all students under the age of 18. Children do not have to be enrolled at GLOW Academy to access this free meal service.
The curbside service and meal delivery will begin on Tuesday, March 17 and continue until March 31, or until the CDC announces new virus mitigation protocols.GLOW intends to package breakfast and lunch items together to assure students receive adequate daily nutrition while schools are closed.
