Update: Woman wanted in Red Cross stabbing incident turns herself in to Wilmington PD

Update 12:30 p.m. — According to the Wilmington Police Department, Vida Michelle Dyson turned herself in to authorities. She is currently being processed at the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office; bond information has not yet been announced.

WILMINGTON — Police are searching for a woman believed to be responsible in a daylight assault that took place Thursday afternoon on Red Cross Street.

Around 3 p.m. Thursday, police found a 51-year-old male victim outside of a barbershop wat 612 Red Cross St. with a laceration to the chest.

Witnesses said a female believed to be connected to the incident left the scene in a white Honda Accord.

Since then, Police have issued a warrant for 44-year-old, Vida Michelle Dyson of Wilmington.

“She is wanted for assault inflicting serious injury. Witnesses told police Dyson is believed to be the victim’s wife. If you have any information on Dyson’s whereabouts please call 910-343-3609 or use the online text-a-Tip line http://www.tip708.com/” police said.
