Carolina Beach man charged with child sex offenses including incest, held on $2 million bond

CAROLINA BEACH — The Carolina Beach Police Department along with Kure Beach Police arrested 31-year-old David Chase Lewis of 201 Fayetteville Ave. Unit 20 in Carolina Beach and charged him with 12 counts of child-related sex crimes.

The alleged crimes took place between 2015 and 2019, according to a CBPD press release.

He was initially taken to the police department where he was placed on a $1 million bond but on Thursday, Sept. 19, he was charged with additional counts related to the investigation.

He was then given an additional $1 million bond and is being held at the New Hanover County Jail.

The charges include:

(1 Count) (F) Statutory Rape of a Child under 15 years old

(1 Count) (F) Incest Against a Child

(6 Counts) (F) Statutory Sex Offense with a Child under 15 years old

(4 Counts) (F) Indecent Liberties with a Minor
