Wilmington police searching for hit-and-run driver who struck three vehicles, sending several to the hospital

WILMINGTON — Several drivers have been transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center after a hit and run driver sideswiped their cars Tuesday night.

The incident involved four vehicles in total.

“Wilmington Police are investigating a hit & run involving four vehicles. The suspect vehicle described as a white full-sized, 2003 – 2006 Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling west on Market Street at a high rate of speed. The driver of the suspect vehicle side-swiped three of the vehicles and continued traveling west on Market Street causing thousands of dollars in property damage,” according to WPD spokeswoman Linda Thompson.

Several of the drivers and passengers were transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with injuries. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to use Text-a-Tip or call the Wilmington Police Department at 910-343-3609.
