
WILMINGTON — The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) are investigating the second shooting this week in the area near the Target on New Centre Drive.
Police were dispatched to 616 Cobblestone Drive shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening. According to WPD, a 27-year-old man — accompanied by his 4-year-old son — was found with a gunshot wound. The victim is reportedly in “fair condition,” according to WPD, who noted no one else was injured.
It’s the second shooting in the area this week. On Saturday, June 29, a drive-by shooting on Kerr Avenue and New Centre Drive sent two men to the hospital, after an unknown suspect opened fire into their vehicle.
Police have not announced any suspect information in either case and are asking the public for any information, using Text-a-Tip or by calling 910-343-3609.
